Starting Over

Updated: Nov 26, 2021

Some crossroads are needed in order to keep making progress.

There comes a time when a choice must be made To salvage what is or to start over with a fresh foundation laid The choice isn't always obvious, it's true For what worked for others may not work for you

It's work to start over, brand new, and from scratch It takes time and dedication, and a team who has your back But it takes just as much time if not more for a 'patch' A band aid, or a sling for repairs that ultimately won't catch

The builders of a house lay a solid foundation For they know filling the cracks honors a temporary occasion The water will seep in and cause mold and mildew If a foundation isn't solid and free from paths for things to seep through

The same holds true for a team of many or a team of one A solid foundation is not easily undone A solid foundation has put in the time to plan It has prepared for obstacles as best it can

A foundation with cracks has an overarching tone

One that keeps you in the past zone

For a foundation with cracks has its own systems and design

And repairs and updates are still somewhat confined

For a foundation with cracks has processes in place

That worked for that time, that season, that space

A foundation with cracks can continue operating at good

But ultimately will it ever excel beyond that to what it could?

Take the time to lay out the plan

For a new foundation that will be able to stand

Put in the work, start over, and move forward with greater vision

One that is not impacted by old mindsets and decisions

What areas may require a new foundation for you?

1. Does your relationship with God require you to take an honest look at just how much time you are spending with Him?

2. Are your relationships in need of evaluation to limit access for those who are draining?

3. Do your finances require a new system for greater savings and debt freedom?

4. Does your mindset need an overhaul to purge from negative or limiting beliefs?

“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. ~Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT)
