Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. ~2 Kings 6:17 (NLT)
Create The Vision
When there’s no vision, the people get out of control, but whoever obeys instruction is happy. ~Proverbs 29:18(CEB)
Without a common vision, goal, mission, or standard for the team to work towards; the family to live by; the business to operate on; the results would be chaotic. Create the vision together, get input from everyone, and commit to living it, make sure everything supports it, and think of creative ways to reinforce it.
When the entire team agrees on the direction of the team, they are committed to seeing it through.
When the family understands the family motto and the reasoning behind it from generation to generation, they respectfully walk with confidence.
When the business establishes the direction, all of the employees and customers can identify that business by it.
Establish a vision, a direction, a purpose so all of the members know the direction they are headed.
Fuel The Vision
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. ~ 2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT)
When working toward a common vision that everyone believes in, the creative opportunities to execute that vision are drawn to the believers of that vision. It is amazing how random articles, social media posts, or even commercials can have a line, a saying, or a theme that sparks other ideas of how your vision can be fueled. The Bible lets us know there is nothing new under the sun (Ecc. 1:9) which implies thoughts and ideas are recycled and upgraded based on the situation or circumstance. When you fuel the vision, you live and breathe it. You are inspired to support it, revamp it, spread it, and share it.
The team will inspire and be inspired by ideas and discussions in meetings.
The family will become more and more creative for family reunions and vacations.
The business will expand it’s reach with unique but purposeful marketing campaigns.
All of this is contingent upon not only knowing the vision and believing in the vision, but actually talking about the vision and establishing plans to support the vision.
