But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. Hearing is good, it’s a good place to start
But what matters is what is driven by the heart
For once it is heard, does the action follow?
Or is the heart naive, and the spoken faith hollow?
If there is no action to back up the words you speak
Examine the heart to prevent a future that is bleak
Examine the motives to make sure they are pure
Examine the schedule so it makes room for more
For a heart that is in alignment with the words and the spirit
Speak the words, so the heart and the spirit can hear it
But it is also to remind the flesh to move
And to do it, even if unsure, just do it in your own groove
Do it when you’re not sure if the book will be a bestseller
Do it by writing one word at a time, even if you’re not the best speller
Do it when you don’t know how you will dig yourself out of debt
Do it by budgeting and sticking to it to launch your best financial self yet
Do it when fear overtakes you right before your speech
Do it by rehearsing repeatedly so the words are innate, and you don’t have to reach
Do it when hesitation tries to prevent you from making the pitch
Do it so they can realize you are the answer to their problem, a perfect fix
Do it when you have only family and friends who are following you
Do it so you can encourage someone else that if you can do it, they can too
Do it even when no one seems to be in your corner providing support
Do it when your half court energy has to get you to full court
Do it because you think about it daily and throughout the day
Do it because you know deep within your spirit, God has paved the way
Do it even if you must look yourself in the mirror and give yourself a pep talk
Do it and declare it daily out loud even if others around you tend to gawk
Do it when they tell you there is no way you will succeed
Do it when your haters have voices that are louder than those who believe
Do it when you’re searching for God to shine on you His perfect light
Do it because you refuse to give up on the fight
Do it because you know your future has the key so many others are looking for
Do it because you trust God will open new windows and create special doors
Do it walking in faith that your gifts will make room for you
Do it and recognize that God believes in you through and through
Do it because it is in the fiber of your very being
Do it in faith first, and then find momentum when you start seeing
Do it when faith fuels the results and people’s lives are blessed because of you
Do it in advance thanking God for standing firm to His word which is always true
