Moving Out Of "Pause"

Updated: Nov 24, 2021

Careful to cut procrastination and justification off before it derails your progress.

When you’re trying to figure out what the deal is

When you can’t seem to move past the planning and all that biz

When you’re looking for answers, everywhere you turn

And feel like you know you can do it, cause you’re ready to learn

When motivational opportunities solidify your decision

But, the planning phase keeps going through revision

Smack yourself, talk to yourself, do Mel’s “5 Second Rule”

Just stop all the thinking and planning, and stop acting like you’re in school

Pull the trigger, do what you’ve said, and stop waiting for some sign

For God has already nudged you and confirmed that you will be just fine.

Write the book, go back to school, ask that woman to marry you

Have the child, buy the house, how many times must God show you?

It may not be perfect the first time around, but really, what is?

Just get out of Pause, and push play to stop revisiting things in your head.

Mel Robbins said, “Count 5-4-3-2-1” and launch yourself into it.

Michael Jordan helped make Nike’s phrase come to life, so really, “Just Do It”

When you realize you’re not really stuck, but instead, someone waiting in the Pause

When your dreams seem close, but just far enough away, stop looking for a cause

A cause to move forward, a cause to wait longer, it no longer exists

It’s time to get up off the pot, because you can really do this!

You’ve written the plan or gone over it in your head

So, stop wondering “What If?” and keep living instead of existing, dead

For when your dreams are waiting for you to wake up

The many who need you, will have a delayed full cup

So, wake up, push play, and launch yourself into it

Do it unsure, do it afraid, do it with mistakes, just launch yourself into it!

But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.

~2 Chronicles 15:7 (ESV)
