When you realize your dream is bigger than you thought
That moment when you believe after all these years, the dream is finally coming into fruition. When the time has come for your prayers to be answered, when everything is falling into place; when you can feel it from the core of everything you are. Then, it happens, you get exposed to greater, have a random conversation that opens up another whole door you didn't even know was there, and then you see even greater than you imagined. You see the multitude who will benefit, you see the pieces of the puzzle starting to come together and how what you know can be a blessing to others. You know that everything has brought you to this moment. The disappointments, the back stabbing, the intent to disarm, the repetitive questions, all to get you to the door you almost overlooked, the door you didn't realize would actually launch you into greatness. The door that held your future all of this time. The door to your greater reach, deeper impact, and the real answer to your prayers. You knew you had a voice that had to be heard, but you had no idea this many people were waiting for you, needed you, could not have gone 'another further' without you. That you would be the vessel used to turn their lives around, inspire them, encourage them, help them see their voice matters, their life matters, they matter. You had no idea that sooo many lives depended on you.
I mean, you believed it when Mordecai told Esther, if you don’t do it, someone else will, but you and your father’s house will perish. That one Jewish woman’s impact and reach was greater than she could ever imagine because she was prepared for that position, found favor in that position, and was in that position for a reason. You too, have a such a time as this moment. Don’t you think for one moment that God doesn’t use “Esthers” today.
You believed it when God used Moses, who came up with just as many excuses as you before he accepted what God told him. He didn’t think he could speak well enough, thought his history of bad choices counted him out, and felt he wasn’t born wealthy enough either. Think about how Moses must have felt lost being called to lead hundreds to freedom, when he was still wrapping his head around everything that was happening to him, being told to him. You too, have a let my people go moment. Don’t you think for one moment that God doesn’t still appoint “Moses” today to help free those who are bound.
You believed it when God used Daniel to show just how mighty God is. Daniel walked in confidence that God would send His angel to shut the lions’ mouths because he knew that he was innocent, and that God’s plan was perfect. Talk about a “Now Faith” moment, that is Holy Boldness at its finest. You too, have the same living God on your side who can handle your false accusers, and divert traps set for you so that you are not harmed and those who are unsure see how God is glorified.
These and other examples in the bible aren’t just for entertainment. They aren’t just to take up pages in a ‘book’ as some refer to it. No, these stories are faith building examples that just as God spoke to, led, and stood by his people then, He does the same today. We have heard it, read it, and sang it that “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore” yet we don’t always walk in it. Isn’t it time to believe that you can be used in a great way for God’s people? Yes, you too can be “Esther”, “Moses”, “Daniel”, “Peter”, “Paul”, and the list goes on. Don’t you believe it? Don’t you receive it? If you say you do, then walk in it! Now, keep the flesh from going to arrogant and haughty, but walk boldly on the path God has given you for such a time as this. Walk knowing, that they are waiting for you. Your community, your tribe, your followers are waiting for you to get in position and take your rightful place. They are waiting for you, not to be their god, not to be the one they worship, but to show them how to navigate through paths you have successfully come through. They are waiting for you to show them that they too can be an “Esther”, “Moses”, or “Daniel.” They are waiting for your insight and lessons learned to help them experience their journey with their eyes wide open, seeing everything God is doing in them, around them, and through them. They are waiting for you to teach them, guide them, coach them to the greatness that awaits them. They are waiting for you to share how you finally accepted, embraced, and walked confidently with a dream that was so much bigger than you thought that though at first you were afraid, you remembered the God you serve! First, you were hesitant, but you knew that trusting in the only true and living God would never steer you wrong. Even through the mistakes, you recognized they were detours and not final destinations. Walk boldly into the dream that you now realize is bigger than you thought.
Lord, the dreams, goals, and visions that keep coming back to us over and over that we don’t know what to do with, please help us seek you diligently so that we can walk in your perfect timing and allow your Holy Spirit to operate in us to bless your people. Father help us be open to your perfect plan for the usage of the gifts that you have blessed us with. Lead us as we go willingly on your pre-destined path, so we walk into the greatness you have for us as we use our gifts and talents for the edification of your people and the glorification of the awesome God that you are. In Jesus’ Name, we pray, Amen.
“Because you have little faith,” he said. “I assure you that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Go from here to there,’ and it will go. There will be nothing that you can’t do.” ~Matthew 17:20 (CEB)
